When ever I read a discussion I alwys try to take the time to rate it. Which I have found out changes your star number next to your name. How long did it take some of the people her on mylot to reach large numbers? I have found it takes quite some time for it to get higher. No matter how many people seem to responed to your discussions. Plus what is the number for anyway. I dont remember reading about it any where when I joined. So anyone that has answers or thoughts please fill free to clue me in.
Thanks in advance.

                    I do.
I make a point to go through the discussions I read and give a rating, whether it's good or bad. I also try to give ratings to people whose discussions that I actually read, even if I don't respond to it. I think it's nice to do it; I know a lot of people take advantage of this and try to take others down, but I still make a point to add my votes in for people to try and help them get an idea of how they are doing here.

I'm not sure I understand what rating really does but yes I do take the time to rate everything I read.
