Would you ever have a pet rat ?

My son had one. It was white and very cute when it was small. As it grew it got mean. One day it bit me, and then him and then it was gone! He was so angry that it bit him, he let it go. I think that if his girlfriend wasn't there with him, he would have fed it to the cats!

Never , I can't stand any creepy crawly animals like that . I did see a white rat once that was a pet and he didn't look anything like I thought it would as I had never seen a rat before and expected it to be much bigger as it was only tiny . I even managed to hold it and it did seem cute but I would never want one as a pet , it was still a rat and my cats wouldn't appreciate me taking in a rat , or maybe they would , they would want to eat him :)

I had a pet rat when I was a kid and I would have another one if I was allowed to but I live in an appartment and they don't let us have pets here so I can't get one now but when I get mine own place I am going to get a pet. Not sure If it will be a rat but they are a lot nicer as pets then people think they are they are not like the ones that get in your garbage and they don't bite like the ones outside.

Although their are clean rats (those who are well taken cared of ) but I will not try to pet a rat. I have labeled them already as dirty and scavenger it would be so hard to erase suck thinking.

Yes i would and did have a pet rat, he was the sweetest little creature and so intelligent too. The only thing i didnt like was that he peed everywhere, otherwise he was just an awesome little companion and some people use them because if they have severe muscle spasms that paralyze them the rat would stay around their neck and alert them before it happened so they could take their medicine instead of ending up in an ambulance headed to the hospital all the time and they could actually live a half way descent normal life. Thanks
