Last year, I moved my three children and I 900 miles away from my family, whom we are very close to. We left behind all but the things that would fit into our mini-van. We did this for my husband. He also has a child who is much younger than my three. We could not bring him to us, so we moved to be near him. I sacrificed a home I was buying, two jobs, one of which I greatly enjoyed, all of the things I had worked so hard to get for my children, and being close enough to family and friends that I could visit them whenever I wanted. I did this after being with him for not even a year and a half, and being married only about 6 weeks. Do I regret it? No. I miss my family terribly, but we talk all of the time. My husband and I are doing much better financially, and after the initial rolle-coaster of emotions and turmoil, we are very happy. For us, the sacrifices I have made have proven to be very much worth it. He works daily to provide for us, my children are able to be in sports and other activities, and I am on the road to owning my own business. None of this would have been possible if we hadn't moved.
