I personally prefer PHP because it is more common, and it's simpler than ASP. Also, I think that implementing HTML into PHP is easier than in ASP. I use PHP for my sites and it works great! Finally, I see many professional sites made in PHP, and they look as good as ones made in ASP, so style wise, they are basically the same because they both implement HTML for the actual page. If you want very good tutorials for both of them, go to w3schools.com Hope this helps you out... Cheers,

Hi, I think that PHP is better. It is simpler to learn and use. I am not sure about ASP because I never use it before.

I personally recommend using PHP, since this is handy to use...I've tried this since i was in college and doing my thesis, and i only learned using PHP in 2 weeks..PHP works well because you can easily integrate HTML codes inside PHP line of code....PHP is great and you can do it using textbase format or use those commercial softwares in making webpages....

I think that ASP is better. Especially ASP.NET - it really rocks. I used PHP just a little, but for me ASP is a lot better. BTW - if you want you website look more pro firstly get familiar with XHTML and CSS :D Or even Flash/ActionScript.

I am just starting to learn PHP these days and so far I thinks its mush simpler and many free website also support these better than ASP. We have to test our codes live to see that its working well right? But it would be a plus factor to learn ASP if your planning of adding web programming to your portfolio.
