I have never been a proponent of killing someone period, but...and this is a big but. If a leader of a country, let's say, goes free after many years in prison, then you have the chance that he or she will bring once again the evil they brought down before on their people. If those who killed are not brought to justice then one day by some accident or purpose they are freed from jail then others will come to suffer. I once read about one of the killings in Texas in the electric chair. I was horrified until i found out that this killer had raped several young girls (all under 10) and had raped and killed several older women, my mind changed. Sometimes we have to give a little to get alittle, but in the cases of such horrid killers I am with the side of justice...

Well, I guess hanging is introduced in india by british as punishment for killing. It set a straight law for it and for some, it was just surprise that there can be a law for killing. But this law itself made to think life is precious. So this law can be good for society. Anyway Hanging is alwaya awarded to criminals who has convicted for cruel and cold hearted killings. and it is given when its considered rares of rare case. I think this kind of law as introduced initially to eliminate the unwanted an troubling people form society. Society decides whom they want in or whom should be just exiled or who need to be eliminate. The person who is goin to be hanged is always part of that society, so he has to accept the penalty. it never happen that someone catch one guy from one country and hang in him in another. law is well defined for it. The guy who kills someone always knows that there is punishment for it. So i think hanging should be there. or they can ease the pain by some other means.

Let the proper authority decide if a person deserve to be hanged or not. You are not the one to kill or get his life because you are under their authority. Your religion teach about not killing, maybe God has given the government to decide what to do over people to be hanged.

I never approve of killing someone, but some nations feel hanging is a way of punishing criminals, it's a harsh way to die so others wouldn't commit the same crime maybe.

I dont think it has anything to do with religion. Its all about being scared. When people are terrified and dont understand sometihng all commen sense goes out the window. Like with the Witch hangings. They were all terrified something bad was going to happen to them and their loved ones. I would kill someone to protect my daughter in a heartbeat.
