Hi people, it's been a while since I last posted here in mylot. Got caught up in something called "life". I've been working "bottom" off recently and decided I need a break from my long-hour working routines. I still need some income while I take that break though, and I thought of being a translator. I can do English - Bahasa Indonesia - English. I have over 2 years of experience in drafting and translating legal contracts and documents in those languages... and I love reading. However, I don't have a TOEFL score (but last I took a test similar to TOEFL I got a score of 600, that was about 7-8 years ago) or anything in paper that can be used to measure my linguistic abilities. It's a perfect break-job cause I can do it from home while washing dishes or waiting for my laundry to dry. Thing is, I don't know where to start. So, I was just wondering..... can anybody give any tips on how to start this translating business? All and any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks a bunch in advance.

I have never been able to land a translating job online, but take into account my languages are English and Spanish so there are a lot of translators with my same skills, I guess you would have less competition, but at the same time less job opportunities. I am a member of a couple of freelance sites which offer jobs on a regular basis, they are transaltorscafe and getafreelancer you can visit them and see if you want to become a member, they are free but both offer premium membership, both addresses are .com. I hope you can find something there.

I think I know where you can get money from translating a review, well I can't put it here as It will breaking mylot rules, so... Take a look at my profile, would you? I'll place a link to that site. Mind you it's not much... A cent for 100 view to your translation. Well it's pleasure to know you.

Thanks, I'm looking into it right now. I don't really understand how it works yet but it looks interesting.
