What are your predictions for the winner of the election this year? I think it will be a close race. But, I do think that McCain having Sarah Palin as his vice president will hurt his votes. I tend to think that Obama is going to win, but who knows what will change between now and then. What are your opinions?

I think it will be very close. I know there will be white vote that goes against Obama, but I think in the end, Obama will win. One thing that makes me more positive is I even saw Fox News say some positive things about Obama ... that has to be a changing wind.

This discussion is three weeks old so much has changed in the polls since you started it. I also think Obama is going to win and the polls have supported that opinion in recent days. There are still those who think Princess Sarah can walk on water but there are also many who have gotten over her newness which has resulted in her negatives going up substantially. The GOP base on the far right adore her but she has done more to push undecided and independent voters away than to attract them. I think McCain is looking very desperate these days while Obama looks cool and composed and quite "Presidential". Annie

I really don't think their are quite enough American's who would vote for Socialism. And since lately it's really been coming out that that is what Obama's plan is I think that it is very possible that McCain may pull it off in the end, the race is tightening up. I wouldn't put money on either one of them, it's really too close to call. However I hope that it will be McCain because Obama's tax plan is all it would time to collapse the economy in my area that is all small businesses providing employment. I was shocked all the sudden McCain signs are up everywhere in the neighboring town that has all these businesses. They seem to be realizing what an Obama administration would mean to them and their 15-20 employees. Almost every job I ever had was a small business that would be hurt in Obama's tax plan. And on top of that I question what these businesses would do if he was elected and tried to pass it. These are business men that don't need the money and can retire now. Since this area is a tourist area that the Clinton's visit all the time I was even more shocked that they would vote Republican. Also my family business that my father worked so hard to build would also be effected. Like a lot of my family and friends we have two separate plans for the future, based on if it is an Obama or a McCain administration. Change will happen either way but the change we will get could be either for the best or the worst depending on the outcome.

I think there will b a lot of people tuned into the presidential debates this Friday. I personally think that Palin was the best move McCain could have made politically. She has boosted him in the polls quite a bit. I say it will be McCain in the end. Good thing is, it wont be as long as it has been, before we find out!

I think Mcain, while its close, I think in the end we will go Mcain, he's getting a good portion of the womans votes because of Palin, which was a genius move on his part. But I still think Obama will come in rather close.
