Should men and women retire at the same age?

In the UK, men have to work until 65 whilst women can retire at 60. This has been around for a long time - and it will be another 10 years before the retirement age is equalised upwards to 65 for everyone.
Do you think this is fair? WHy not equalise it immediately? why take ten years over it?
Seems to me yet another unfairness to men having to work longer than women!
What do you think?

I thought this was already in place. I remeber people moaning about this fact when I worked in a hospital over ten years ago. And one nurse saying that she was just in the age gap to retire at the age of 60. So she should be well retired by now.
Its like with all these rules, they think of them and then have to sit on them and re think them, just to make sure there are no loop holes etc.
But since there are now more people over the age of 60 than under 16, perhaps they had better start re thinking putting up the retiring age higher for every one, espically as people living longer etc has make a bit of a mockery of the pension scheme etc
