Do you use your birth name?

I always hated my name. My father named me after a beautiful starlet, so I must have been a disappointment to him. When I got to eleventh grade, I started going by my middle name. It's a more common name, but I like it. An acquaintance told me recently that my first name was more fitting to me, because it was more exotic. Because she flattered me so, I let her call me by my first name. When I submit a story or article for publication, I do use my full name. Because my dad has dementia, I don't correct him any more when he calls me by my first name. Usually he calls me by my first and middle name which I prefer, anyway. Just don't call me by my first name. Do you use your birth name? Why or why not? What does your name mean? Do you think your name is unique or boring?
