What awesome mess have you come home to find?

So I went out to breakfast yesterday (after working all night 3rd shift.. came home let dogs out- let dogs in and left) And apparently My dogs thought I should have stayed home with them and they even had a suggestion about what I should have ate. We got home from breakfast a couple hours later and opened the front door.... (now I know from the title you are all very curious maybe it has happened to you. in some strange form- but I bet not this...) and covering the house, the hallway, all the way to the living room, the couch, the ENTIRE living room floor and all the way up the stairs to the 2nd floor (they stopped 3 stairs from the top.. not sure why...) are CHEERIOS. YES, Cheerios- you could not walk anywhere without them crunching under your feet. As I walked in the living room I discovered a shredded box (not a little box mind you- but the biggest box of Cheerios they make) then I discovered the 2nd one... Do you know just how much Cheerios comes in one of those boxes... well enough to cover the whole house that's how much!!(You see, I didn't have enough room in my cabinet for these huge boxes so they were on the kitchen table. Now I assume the cats knocked them off and gave them to the dogs- because I have seen them do this before.) But this may have been all the dogs doing- I think they were trying to tell me I should not have left them and should have stayed home and ate my CHEERIOS. So tell me what is the most AWESOME mess you have come home to find? PS. My roommate tells me they should get some kind of award or medal- he was that impressed! LOL!

LOL! That is hilarious! I was waiting for you to say what the mess was, but I wasn't expecting Cheerios! But the biggest laugh for me is picturing the ABSOLUTE FUN those dogs must have had playing with those boxes of cheerios!! Can you imagine? Considering it was everywhere, they really must have been having a doggie blast! Probably like all of our holidays rolled into one, plus each dog's birthday! I haven't come home to anything so spectacular before! Just the usual trash knocked over and spread on the kitchen floor. You know you have to hide the Cheerios from now on at all times, because they will remember the great fun they had!

Haha! they rolled your house!! I can't decide which mess is worse to clean up, but if the toilet paper got slobbery and wet, I think that must have been a SUPREME mess to clean up.

LOL! you know I wish I had a camera set up, it must have been... pee in your pants hysterical. Because the cheerios were just everywhere. I couldn't even yell at them because I was just laughing so hard. I mean when they trash a house they do it right.. You should have seen the day the decided to try the toilet paper. not the the toilet paper hanging up the whole package of 12 rolls Sitting (I thought) obscurely by the side of the toilet..they left 1 roll in the bag! that was another fun day... Puppies! What are ya gonna do?

Lol, I have had that too. last month.... lol my new Leather recliner... sat untouched for months and then one day I came home and they ate the part of the chair. I taped it up- they ripped it off. I taped it again- they ripped it off again. I have left it for the last 3 weeks and now they have decided to leave it alone... And they say dogs don't think.. ha- I think they have a PLAN..... to drive me crazy... and it's working!

LOL. that barely compares to my cats that fought on the counter and swung the swing arm faucet over the counter and turned it on! I came home in the morning to find my kitchen flooded and my roommates had all slept thru it and the water running all night.

Hmm... I would say when my dog learned to get into garbage bags. She got into my room, dragged it out into the hall, and got it all OVER. I should add, it was only plastic and such, not food. (We have a separate program for food scraps, so nothing she could eat.) ALL over my room, the hall, my parent's room, and the stairs. Still don't know why she cared, as there wasn't even food wrappers in there.

My most awesome mess would also have to a be dog-related. I was actually home when she did it, but was asleep. I woke up and walked into the kitchen to find the contents of the trash can scattered around the kitchen. Some of the more interesting pieces of trash that she tore into smaller bits included a banana peel, three paper plates, several napkins, and a diaper...yuck! That's what I get for not taking the trash out before I went to bed.

LOL. I have had mine tear things up too while I was asleep in the same room. Nervy of them. Can't imagine how I didn't hear it as I am usually a light sleeper. And again I didn't get too mad at them because I figured maybe it was my fault for sleeping so heavy. they could have been trying to get my attention for hours and I ignored them so they took matters into their own hand. lol. that will show me - that I should always sleep with one eye open! LOL

Well, thank your lucky stars you don't have Siamese or Burmese cats, they're smarter than dogs.

I had a siamese! and she used to boss the dogs (and all the other cats around) they were all afraid of her and her mood swings! lol She was the most maternal and loved kittens and taking care of everyone. so she would always hold everyone down and clean their faces. and when she finished she would swat them- so subsequently they all sat(dogs included) with their ears down- eyes squinted waitng for the blow- I don't think any of them ever enjoyed the "bath"!

oh, you don't know the half of it. They do it all the time- I swear. I have seen the dogs with things that I know they would have not thought to mess with on their own. but the cats they go and push things off the shelves and say "Here, let me see you play wit this." case in point -the cats "threw" a glass picture frame and a photo album off a high shelf and I came home and found the dogs chewing on the photo album and they had chewed the aluminum brackets on the picture frame- HOW they did not cut their mouths to shreds on the broken glass -I will never know. they are very lucky..hmmm now that I think of it- maybe the cats are trying to "Get rid of the dogs" and make it look like an accident.. LMAO!

Bet that was fun to clean up but it could have been worse it could have been chocolate or something harder to clean up. I came home the other day from work and my kittens taht I just got thought they should use my towels for their kitty litter. What a stinky mess it was to clean. Now when they see a towel they try to take off with it on me. Not sure why they keep taking the towels cause they were trained now I am training them all over again before my boyfriend finds out what they have decided to use as kitty litter.

Oh, boy...which one? Okay-see my avatar? Doesn't she look sweet? (She's the devil in disguise...lol.) The first one I remember was the Great Milkbone Caper of 2005. Hadn't had Georgie for very long. Came home to find Milkbones and parts of Milkbones, stashed EVERYWHERE! In the corners, under the furniture, in the arms of the chairs...and under the couch, the most damning evidence of all-the box. She actually hid the empty box under the sofa. Ahh...but Milkbones are milquetoast...There was the day we took George for her walk, a nice long one. Hubby then left for a quick run, and I took an additional workout walk. I was gone for twenty minutes. When I returned, dear doggie had 1) knocked down the baby gate and gotten into the office. Kitty litter bonanza. Litter all over the floor and on everything in sight. (She drools and it sticks.) 2)The pantry-basically turned inside-out, all the dog food bags out in the middle of the kitchen. 3) The baby gate closing off the upstairs-basically the cats' territory, also knocked down. Kitty food bowls scattered hell to breakfast in the hall, emptied and smeared with litter-encrusted drool. I think there may have been one more mess, but my mind has since blocked it out. I freak out and we, after crating darling doggie, head to target for a stronger gate and a lidded bin to keep the food bags in. Next day- what's this? A package of 3-alarm chili mix in the middle of the living room floor?! (Thankfully-not fully opened.) And this? BAY leaves?! Crushed into the carpet? And looky here-there's our brand-new snap-tite, doggy-proof bin, in the kitchen doorway instead of the pantry, with the handle chewed off! And beyond that-the open cupboard door with the rest of its contents spilling out... George is just darn lucky she's cute...

wow! she really can make a big mess in a little amount of time. It's lie she just runs rampant looking for the next thing. how much can I get into while I'm free. Like a kid in a candy store.. lol She does a great job! Mine work in cahoots- so I never know which one is the guilty party. But when I just had 1 dog. He used to be good too- he hated being left alone and we would come home and find all manor of stuff. it was a studio apartment we lived in back then. And I had bought this new Hassock $15- the next day we came home and I found out what they stuffed it with... Straw- all over the whole place- everywhere! he went thru at least 4 pairs of sneakers - we would replace them and he would always chew the left one- so when he ate our 3rd pair (each -that 6pair) and all we had was 3 halfway decent right feet and shredded left ones- we gave up... he put a hole in a mattress, ate to recliner (type) chairs - chewed on the wood to my bunk bed. all three bottom drawers on my long dresser. Ate a jewelry box. ( Are you starting to get the pic? he loved wood!- oh and here's one I never figured out. we had a long folding table (pretty good size at least a couple feet wide) against the wall and above it hung 3 wicker baskets a little over 5 feet up the wall (now if I leaned over the table and tried to reach them I would barely be able to. - but somehow.... he got them off the wall an ate them too- and they wouldn't be the first wicker baskets he ate either.. lol, he started craving them. during that time he also hate a cassette tape- and let me tell you watching him poop that out in the yard was the funniest site we EVER saw. tape trailing out his but and he was running around trying to figure out how to get it out.. lmao. I guess if you gotta dog or a few- you HAVE to have Some good stories.. unless there is someone out ther e with the PERFECT dog.. thanks for your story -it made me laugh!
