Did anyone here do anything special this past weekend for the equinox?

The group I hang out with did drumming in a semi-circle with the fire at the beginning of it. They told stories, sang and meditated. Then they had a pot luck dinner inside. I worked a rummage sale and my regular job. Still, if it had been on Sunday night, I would have gone. I found out too late on Saturday night, that it was going on. I worked until 7PM, so it would have been too late by the time I showed, changed and drove there anyway. Do you go to pot lucks? Do people you know have pot lucks? How often do they have pot lucks? What ways to they celebrate if they do not have pot lucks? Do you have any friends or know people who drum, tell stories, sing or meditate? I used to belong to a group that had pot lucks once a month. We used to do guided meditation. A different person would lead each month. But our lives became so busy that we couldn't keep it going. Now just 4 times a year, the two equinoxes and the two solstices. So I feel badly that not only did I miss this one, but I missed the summer solstice one before it.

Nope, barely noticed it passing - the roomie made a comment on Sunday & I said I didn't think it was yet - and it wasn't until Monday. Far more concerned about the bro's birthday Thursday.

Well, Happy Birthday to your Bro. Another reason why I thought the gathering would be on Sunday. So what do you have planned for him?

Sounds like you scored a lot of presents. Sorry bad things happen around your birthday. I'd be praying for good things only to happen and would see if that worked, I had my wedding around the time I ended up in the hospital every year. Figured I'd be too excited to get sick, and I was! Hope only good things happen this year. Take care

Hi. I have not been invited to a potluck since I can't remember when. I don't even know of one that's occurred for years. I would like to have a potluck supper just for us and my 2 sisters and their husbands. I have often thought I would talk to them about that. We would do it just for the heck of it. My brother in law is a former drummer from a band, but I don't think that's the kind of drummer you are talking about. Although I know quite a bit about meditation, I've not really used it. I don't know anyone who sings, meditates, or tells stories. It sounds like you have had alot of interesting experiences. Thanks for sharing.

I can't imagine life without any pot lucks for years or not knowing anyone who sings, meditates or tells stories. My life would have no culture at all. Well, at least you know a drummer! It is different, but it is alike, too. Thanks and take care.

We each do in our own way. I celebrated on Monday by cooking and eating. I also sat outside and enjoyed nature, it was so beautiful here. Thanks and take care
