Does Anybody Know How I Can Get Moving???

i notice a lot of users here have animated avatars that have some kind of movement even in discussions.
i'm assuming these are in gif format.
but every time i upload a gif avatar, they only move on my profile page but not when i post in discussions.
is their a trick or something i'm missing???
do i need to change the extension???
please tell me the secret!!!

I have seen these before, but never really thought about them. I thought, as you assumed, that these were just animated gif files that have been loaded up.
You, however, are not allowed to change your avatar, because I will have a had time figuring who you are. You're going to make me look for your name.

i think it's as Loud n Proud pointed out.....avatars are to big, it has to be an icon which are much smaller.
don't worry, i'm not going anywhere, it's actually for my girlfriend (missybear) who i got hooked on myLot a couple of weeks ago.
