Have anyone experienced being proposed by someone that you don't like? Assume that he/she is your ordinary friend and unfortunately have misunderstood your friendliness and caring and has fallen for you. How do you respond to this? And do you think you did it the right way?

I had a suitor who actually was a close friend. But, I didn't see this guy to be someone I'll be having serious relationship with. I told him honestly about how I feel for him and said that I like us just to be friends. Our friendship ended that day unfortunately. It was sad that I lost a friend but I want him to be happy with someone else. I didn't regret saying NO to him but I regret losing him as a friend. I can't have both things in life but I just face the consequence of my action.

I think it is best to just be honest and say no.. This might be harsh or seem insensitive.. But I think it is the best way.. Have a nice day..

I experience before on the situation. I am the one that other party told me NO directly. It hurt me badly, but is good, at least i know the situation and stop my future actions to continue fallen into her. So be straight forward. Say NO directly.
