There is much going on in the world right now - natural disasters, wars, economic crisis, and the list goes on and on. We can't help but be concerned about things that are occurring. What is your greatest fear regarding current events around the world?

gee I have so many concerns I am not really sure. I think the usa economy, even though I am not american, if this economy destablizes it takes the whole western world down with it

I'm sure that's probably true - if Americans are unable to buy things - many of which are foreign made - it will have an impact on other economies as well. Also, there are so many companies in the US that are foreign owned, I am sure it would have an impact on them.

it is far more reaching than that, america's economy keeps the western countries afloat, the stock exchanges across western hemisphere take a nose dive when the american economy falters, plus american gives the most loans to other countries and if they don't have to give put the entire trading system of the west in trouble.

I feel the same way you do, too much going on and people are not prepared for it all. I am one of these prepping people. Garden, canning fruits and veggies, stocking up and saving money. I would like to think that our household is in a good position to tackle possible disasters. I do fear the way things are going that is why we are trying to be more aware of our own situation! I like your blog by the way, I am going to add it to my favorites and I also sent you a friend request!

A couple of years ago, we took a long and serious look at where we thought the economy was going and what we needed to do to protect ourselves. This reassessment of our priorities resulted in the sale of our home and acreage, a change in occupation/employment and with that, a relocation to another state. We also take every opportunity to be self-sufficient, growing our own food and limiting our dependence on public utilities. We are also very close to being debt-free, another reason we feel that we are also in a good position should the economy continue in it's downward trend (or should come to a complete crash)! I don't get the website or blog updated as often as I would like to - hopefully, I will have more time inside as the weather gets cooler.
