I find it shocking that a country could ban an entire range of clothing. How would that be enforced? In the UK, there are no such rulings. Obviously, there is appropriate attire for different occasions; most nightclubs won't let you in if you're wearing trainers or tracksuits. To be honest, this is more a situation of good taste though. I think the miniskirt was a bit contraversial when it was first popular here, in the 1960's. Some people thought that it was unseemly to wear one, but those attitudes have long faded with the last century.

The reason the minister gave was that they are concern about mini skirts and their effect on cultural values, am just wondering what are these values that are now in existence that have never been before, and remember history tells us that people used to walk necked, were these people not having values and how were these people behaving, how were men behaving in the presence of necked women and how were women doing, Is there documentary which tells us that they were behaving badly. To my suprise some ladies are supporting the move, for men I have not heard their opinion so far, What will the ban promote?, was it the best move

I am here in the States, where the mini skirt was and is king. I believe the mini started in Britain but it really took off here in the U.S. I assume Uganda is more of a modest nation. Question. Do you know if Ugands is a Muslim nation? If so, I would understand the ban.But if the U.S. Tried to ban the mini, there would be more women wearing minis then now.Whenever they ban something here, it becomes more popular.
