when you go travel even just within your country, there is always the sunrise and sunset on the sea or beyond the mountains. which do you prefer to witness? sunrise or sunset? i prefer to witness the sunset by the sea most especially the changing of the colors from orange to reddish orange to some purple hues before it really gets dark. sunrise is nice but you can't stare forever...

They are both wonderful... but what amazes me how different sunsets/rises are around the world. Tropics to the poles but even from country to country!

I love to watch the sunrise in the morning. I usually get up at 6 before anyone else and sit in my kitchen with a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise. So peaceful. I love the kitchen with the bay window facing east. We live in the country so I can see the whole horizon. It is beautiful.

I live just three miles from the ocean and love to watch the sunset over the sea. This summer I went on a boat trip to Wales and viewed the sunset coming home. It was so special thinking about it now because I took photos of the pier. Sadly there was a fire that destroyed the end part of it since then. I love traveling and in the Seychelles I saw some very special sunsets. One time I took a photo with a swing and the ocean behind it. Wow! I spent a whole day traveling by bus from Mexico to Belize and I took a boat to Caye Caulker. On the way there the sunset and it gave me such an amazing arrival. Sunsets are awesome but I think because it involves getting up so early that sunrises are that bit more special. I got up in the darkness and walked through the jungle in Tikal, Guatemala. I climbed a Mayan Temple and the darkness gradually began to unfold. The sky changed from black to orange and then blue. I heard all the animals wake up and saw two parrots fly. It was a such a memorable sunrise.

I love to see the sunset. All the colors against a blackening sky are just beautiful. It's a very relaxing way to end the day.

I want to witness all the time the sunset. It is very lonely and the sunset is full of meaning for me compare to sunrise. Very romantic and very exotic in the eyes. Sunset resembles a meaning of another day had gone by and another day awaits to us all and this is my favorite event.

I also prefer watching the sunset. It seems more romantic than sunrise and the color of the sky is magnificent. There are times that the sky turns slightly purple though it's very rare. But sunrise is also nice for it means a brand new day.

i love to watch the sunset over water too, but i dont live near an ocean, just a lake but thats ok. in the summer, we spend a lot of time at the two great lakes that we live near. i would love to live on the beach - just give me a shack and i would be happy!

I rarely get to see the sunrise....i dont remember when i ahve seen it last, and in the urban places we really miss the joy of both. Whenever i go for vacations i get some time to enjoy nature but then too if it is the place like Mumbai in India, you can just see tall, skyscrappers, and the sun....hididng among them..

sunset i love the sunset and the yellowish look of the sky at that time.it's so refreshing and insightful that whatever has a rising also has a decline doesn't matter how powerful or strong...

Many of us would prefer sunset as it kind of makes you feel soft with the colors of reddish and orange mix. Sunrise however makes you fell energetic and spirited as you watched the soft blue color with a little yellowish to mark the sunrise. It feel refresh as you got a change to live for another day.
