perky or jerky

Has anybody noticed how incredibly perky the contestants on Wheel of Fortune are? Do they select them for that over intelligence? Or do they slip them something funny so that they act that way? OR is anybody really that perky in real life?

Oh yeah, and on Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, the contestants talk out the possible answers or they will talk around it. And the game in which the contestants sing the missing lyrics, well some are just awful. And crazy!Sometimes my ears hurt for the bad singing.

With some exceptions I think that people who try to go on game shows tend to have that kind of personality and in addition the shows pick people with those personalities to make the shows more entertaining to the viewers.

I think it somewhat depends on the game show. For example on Jeopardy, they expect people to be positive but not so much perky like on wheel.
