I thought it was so funny tonight watching TV, listening to a republican talking head, saying that McCain's suspending his campaign (and commercials) to deal with the finacial crisis, is classic John McCain. About thirty seconds later there is a McCain attack Ad on my TV. Is this classic John McCain?

Don't know what you're idea of classic McCain is but what he said was he was on his way to Washington rather than continuing on the campaign trail and also that Obama is doing the same, which in a sense they both were suspending their campaign. Doesn't have to do with commercials or anything like that, people are just taking things a bit too literal as they often do in politics. All the statement meant was that their was something more important than campaigning to do at this time. Just like when he changed up the RNC to do what needed to be done with the storms down south and changing it more into a fund raiser. They are both senators also, not just candidates for president. It's good that they are doing the jobs they are presently being paid for.

Missy, I do use more than one source (this one was from FOX News, so I guess I should have known it wasn't credible), and I do know that John Bohner has said that they didn't have a deal (apparently he didn't talk to the leader of his party George W. Bush). McCain was the one that was playing a game, apparently no one told McCain that Congress has been discussing this bail out for the last week, but he had to put his superman outfit on, and come save the poor republicans from who? George W. Bush of course. This plan is Geroge W. Bush's plan, not the democrats, it is republican led bail out, that will help the ultra rich excape responsibility for their actions. McCain could have been involved when everyone was testifying, but he CHOOSE to campaign instead, why is that? McCain came in to make sure that this campaign contributors were takin care of with a capital gains tax cut (isn't that a spending bill that McCain would have attacked before he was running for president?). Just like a republican: Always looking out for the rich. I am uncertain about this plan personally, I never trust a republican plan (especially a plan that George W. Bush endorses), but Warren Buffet has said that he would purchase this paper if he could at the rate that the United States can. But, who would listen to Warren Buffet? When it comes to business, Warren is NO John McCain.

It's classic McCain all right! Say one thing and do another. Say something today and say the opposite tomorrow without acknowledging any kind of flip. I think Senator Harry Reid said it best - McCain gave no position on solving the economic crisis, the only positions he took were in front of the cameras.
