Online survey sites - pay us to pay you?

Well, it's been a little over a month since I've discovered how to earn money online. Naturally, I first discovered PTCs and, through PTCs, myLot and other PTP sites, most of which I try to be active with. Along the way, I've also learned of other income opportunities like writing reviews and posting them on sites like Review Stream and Ciao, and writing articles for Associated Content. And then, of course, there are online surveys... There are sites that offer to pay you to complete surveys but, at a price. You have to pay them a sort of membership fee first, to join and gain access to their surveys. I was just wondering... is it worth it? Because, aside from paying their membership fees, you have to invest your time and effort into completing the surveys, in hopes of earning back the membership fee you initially paid and then some. Dear myLot-ers, have any of you joined these pay-us-to-pay-you sites? How much return on your investment have you gotten from these? If you haven't, would you join such sites? I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions on this matter.
