The past few days my 20 month old daughter has been taking off all of her clothes and her diaper. She will do this over and over during the day. Sometimes she will try and put them back on herself, but other times she will just strip naked and take off running around the house. How do I get her to keep her clothes on?

I had a similar problem with my son who stripped naked up until he was three when he went to the loo. We did not manage to find out why he did that but the doctor advised us to let him be. It was hard at first especially if we were outside and he needed to go to the bathroom. He soon grew out of it.

Must be something in the water, mine has been doing the same thing all this week. He can get his clothes off completely on his own now so I think for him it's just showing of a new skill. They might be little but they understand what it means to prove themselves. They one thing he can't get out of quite yet are his zippered footy pj's. His have that snap strap at the top of the zipper and he can't quite figure it all out. If he does get to the zipper he squats down while he pulls and that just bunches up his pj's so it won't work. I don't like having it look like he stays in pj's all day but as chilly as today is I wish I had!

She started on the zippered footy pj's a few nights ago. Hers do not have the snap strap at the top like your son's have, so it is easier for her. I put a pair of pants on her that she is having trouble getting off today, so she is letting them be for right now.

I'm sorry but I had to laugh when I seen this post! Is she potty training? My daughter is 21 months and potty training so she takes her cloths off all the time. If your daughter isn't potty training yet maybe you should start its good timeing.
Also it could just be that she learned how to take her clothes off so she is doing it just to do it. I know my daughter always trys to put her clothes on even if she already has cloths on because she can.
Either way its a phase and will pass. Have fun!!

LOL omg i remember those days!! Its totally natural and basically you just need to have patience with her...She's learning about herself and has a desire to figure out getting undressed, dressed etc. PLUS if you get all up in arms when she does it you're entertaining her..Little ones LOVE to get a reaction out of their moms and dads ya know...Just correct her gently AND take the time to let her put her clothes back on by herself (with your help when needed) THEN when she's done praise her...Its a phase basically and a learning experience for her so you just have to kind of work with it ya know..

I remember my god-daughter went through that stage. She' learning a new stage of development. They all do that around that age. No worries...
just embarrassment. It will pass. Carefully show her that people wear their clothes on. She's get back to staying dressed soon.

Ahh, to be that comfy. When they are this age it is cute. My daughter went through this phase as well. Then she discovered she liked clothing. Especially the dresses her aunt bought her. Try safety pins. If you pin the tops and bottoms together it will make it easier for you to keep her dressed.
