This is a deep question!

If it was possible, would you give a year of your life to a dying person that held the wisdom to make the world a much better place? To explain, if you could just give away a year of your life to somebody, taking a year off of your own life, would you? I think I would. For the betterment of mankind, it's worth it.

Sure why not. hell it aint like I have a lot going on in life anyways LOL I wake up hurting almost every morning, then I spend the day worrying about paying my bills, then I go to work and try to make it through the evening until quitting time. Then I come home hurting and go to bed hurting....then the process repeats...I guess I could take one for the team LOL

I know exactly where you're coming from. Kind of feels like being a hamster in his wheel. Working hard and getting nowhere. Hang in there, mate! You're not alone.

I also think that goldeneagle raises some significant points that ,it is the quality , colour and perception of the individuals life that offers meaning to his existence .

Nope. I can't say that I would, because I believe the world will be ending soon. I think Jesus is going to come back sometime soon (although we don't know when).

Oh please...give us a break with your delusion of someone coming to save us from our selves...I think that most everyone has come to the realization that it's just us the cause of most of our problems...

Considering that I love my life and cherish every moment, I wondered for a moment why the "yes" came to my mind in a flash, as emphatic as could be. Then I realized that it was connected with the good of the world. There's no hesitation. Of course I would give a year, or anything else I could give. Whatever it would take to make the world a better place is well worth whatever I must give.

No, i never met such a person and if i did why would i want to give them a year of my own life if they had this so-called wisdom to make the world better then how come they sick and dying i would think that they would have cure the world of it's ills before they would need anyone to extend their existence...

If that person wanted me around him/her, then I would do it.. I think it would be much easier for him/her to be able to understand what is happening if he/she could talk to someone.. Have a nice day..

Your question has many logical flaws. If the individual had the answers ,why would he/she reside in a dying body , they would have the wisdom to manage their own physical maintenance. The concept relies heavily on a guru, mesiah perspective I think it is inappropriate for one individual to let another manipulate him in this way. It is an abuse of power and implies the individual has little worth and self efficacy. The question also poses the view of self sacrifice for a greater good . Again greater good and sacrifice need to be interpreted .

Yes I think I would. I will hopefully have a long and healthy life, and if all I had to give up for the good of mankind was one year then of course I would do it. If I was going to live to be 80, what does it matter if I only live to be 79 instead? If the world would benefit, I would give 5 years of my life!
