Nielsen Ratings

For years I've heard of the Nielsen Ratings and wondered how they got their information. Today I got my answer. I received a big envelope from Nielsen and almost threw it in the trash without opening it, but fortunately my curiosity got the best of me. Enclosed were two one dollar bills and a survey form! I could either fill out the survey and mail it in, or call the toll free number, or go online to fill out the survey. I'm elated! I've never had anyone pay me for a survey BEFORE I completed it.! Have you ever received unexpected money in the mail?

i got one of those 2 or 3 years ago - with a 5 dollar bill in it - and i think i'm the reason they dropped it to 2 dollars - i left the survey by the chair, started filling it out, 2 days later, i cleaned the living room - starting with any junk mail laying around - and tossed the survey! sorry - beaddoodler, i didn't mean not to send it in...

I'm sure you're not the only one that kept the money and didn't send in the survey! That's what surprised me. Money in advance????

Never hear of that happening but I am very aware of Nielson Ratings and just do not trust them with my information and I was upset to find a site I enjoyed called REwardtv.com bought out by Nielsen and I would not even of known had it not been for Reward TV telling me before they moved in and I canceled my membership right away because they will sell your information anywhere they can like so many others and you when you start getting junk mail

I have gotten those big enevelopes before too. It is always nice to get some cash in the mail. I just got a check from one of my survey sites that I belong too. I have been saving up, the check was for $89. WooHoo.

My Two Cents, It didn't happen overnight, I have been saving for awhile. NFO is another good site. MyPoints is another one. Global Test Market is another good one too.

Nielsen is still doing this, only they've automated their whole ratings system. Don't ask me how I know. :-D

Last week i recieved an envolope in the mail with a companies name on it that i didn't reconize and nearly chunked it (i am bad about that) but for some reason i opened it and it was a 25.00 check for a survey i had taken at some time (i still don't remember) so i cashed it and enjoyed it but not before I waved it under my husbands nose, because he is always teasing me about "wasting" time doing surveys!LOL

Have you ever received unexpected money in the mail? No, but if each of you would like to send me a dollar, I will accept it.*LOL* I never knew Nielsen sent out surveys.

I never knew it either, but I'll take a dollar anyway I can legally & morally get it. Yeah, I'm still a stick-in-the-mud!
