I think its normal. It differs from woman to woman. Tell her to do some yoga and exercise daily. She should also take calcium supplements since menopause often causes osteoporasis. I have told my mom to do the same. She may have depression and mood fluctuations too. So she will need a lot of support from her family. Its good to know you are concerned for your mother.

I think it is normal, though it can be quite frightening when it does happen. The menopause affects each woman in a different way. If your mother has had medical checkups which show there is nothing wrong, it may just be another symptom she will have to endure. She could ask for advice or information from the medical services if she is worried that it is abnormal. It would be better for her to have reassurance from professionals, than for her to continue worrying about it. Excessive anxiety is also a symptom of menopause.

Yes, it's normal. Heavy bleeding, lighter than normal periods, erratic timing, no period at all... it's all normal. She'll soon get past it.

has she tried birth control?? i've had my period since i was 13 and it's always been irregular. i bleed so much i could probably supply a blood bank for a month. birth control works great for me. it regulates my periods so i know when they are coming and i don't have cramps and it cuts down on the bleeding. i've used all types and my personal favorite is seasonal. you only get your period 4 times a year and it's a short cycle. having irregular periods happens a lot for no reason. she should try birth control.
