Last weekend, hubby and I invited in-laws for a lunch in a nice restaurant here in our place which is 45 minutes drive for inlaws since it was my FIL's birthday..They both enjoyed and loved it! By the following morning, hubby received an email from MIL thanking us for the said lunch and everything so I told my husband to send the pictures because I know they love it so much especially the picture of the two of them which I also find very sweet and cute! Anyway, to make this post short, hubby accidentally deleted all the pictures before sending it! I was speechless and disappointed because I really love it and i know they love it too and he just said..Oh well!and then laughed! grrr! I walked out after that or else I will be giving him a sermon which is not also fair..hahahaha! Anyway........ Is there any special event in your life where by any reasons you lost all the souvenirs? in situation like this, are you the one who will wait for awhile to feel better? or the one who will just laugh and say, oh well? LOL!

What a shame that happened to you. I hope hubby learns to be more careful from now on. As for me, I'm absolutely neurotic about backing things up and saving them. I have videos and pictures of almost everything that's ever happened to my husband and I, saved in two different computers, and on little DVD's.

Oh that is sad!!! annoying!! but you can't bring back the deleted pictures if you get upset. It happened to us too. My hubby has all the nice pictures of the beautiful spots when he visit Philippines and all the activities he enjoyed. But when hwa about to copy the said pics, the film was exposed. hahahah He was not using digital camera that time. He used his old cannon camera that uses film.. he also has a big sigh!!! I did not blame him because it will make things worst. I just keep quiet, but he was upset of what happen. things are like that sometimes which tests our patience.

Awww, I am sorry that happened to the photos. It would be aggravating especially if there was no way to get them back. I can't think of any occasion or trip where we lost all of the pictures or souvenirs. We don't go on trips that often but we do try and always keep pictures or something reminding of us the vacation or trip. It usually takes us a while to develop or get the photos on the computer than anything. I don't know why, we just take a long time to do certain things. I guess you could say we procrastinate!

Oh, why is it if the man makes the mistake its like, oh well, ha ha, whatever, but if we do it its the end of the world. The other day my husband was shopping with the kids and came home and brought my sons booster seat in the house. I asked him why it was in the house and he said its wet. I said why is it wet. He said because I went shopping and came back to see that I had left the door open to the van. The BIG sliding door. He was like oh well. I know very well if I had done that his reaction would be MUCH different!

You may be able to use a program called Recuva, which is from the makers of CCleaner. Its a program that is able to recover deleted files from your computer and external storage devices. Here is the link to where you can download this program: http://www.recuva.com/ This download is completely free, and safe. Although it's not always able to recover all files. Its better than nothing though. I hope you are able to get those pictures back.

It doesn't say there's a time limit of the files it can recover. Actually, when I used it just for kicks, it was able to bring up files that were deleted when I wiped my system! So you should be able to. Its either able to bring up the file, or it isn't. No restrictions on time.

Hi Checapricorn, That is sad that photos were lost but you all still have the happy memories of the day although not the same. My belongings had to go into storage when I was homeless years ago and staying in a B&B and whilst in storage a lot of my photos got damp and ruined so I do know what it feels like to lose pics but I have manage to collect back a few from copying from pics other family members had. This ine though there is no copy of for you unfortunately. I certainly didn't laugh about it but accepted that it had happened. Huggles. Ellie :D

I think I would be the one irritated but then again it depends on the given occurrence. I know that sometimes I will go an delete pictures of people that I do not like or haven't talked to in a while, and I think it's just normal to do such things. However, if it's pictures that I have no on a digital source, then most likely they get lost. Such as a few pictures of my niece and nephew and a friend I am no longer friends with. I will not tear the picture of this friend up as it does have a picture of my niece and nephew, in any case... I am sorry those memories were deleted, but I do hope that you not stay angry at your husband for long. It was very bad of him to not take it differently.

I am glad that you all had a good time since it was your father in laws birthday and I am sad to hear that the pictures got deleted before he sent the email, and I can not believe he just laughed and so oh well,I do not think anything like that has ever happened to me,but if it did I would be really sad,or I would freak out and start screaming, but I would not just laugh and say oh well, because that is not a laughing matter.

My computer has crashed before and I lost all my pix on my computer. That was my fault. I had not printed them. Which reminds me. I have some that needs printing now. I know how mad you must have been. Did you look in your recycle bin. They usually go there first?

I'm sorry about the pictures, checapricorn. I'm sure your hubby didn't like it too after it happened even though he didn't really show it. At least your in-laws got to see the pictures before they got deleted and they can blame it on their son. Lol. I've taken so many pictures of events/occasions that it's hard sometimes to keep track where each picture is. I can't store all of them in my laptop so I also have to check my external hard drive if I want to look at old pictures and that takes a while even if I had every picture assigned to the appropriate folders. But I lost most of my baby/childhood pictures during one flood in the Philippines. We didn't think of putting the photo albums in a higher surface until the water subsided. And of course, the pictures were ruined.

I had an experience somewhat similar to this. I rented out a mobile home to a couple of friends of ours. I had stuff of mine in the storage at the mobile home. We live in another mobile home in the park. I had everything sealed up and protected from anything. There were baby pictures of my 7 year old in there. Pictures of her first Christmas, first day home from the hospital, and all the special moment pictures. The people that were renting from us decided that it was ok to break into the storage and go through my things. They had 2 dogs and a cat, which we did not say they could have down there. Their dogs ended up peeing on the pictures and they were all ruined. There was nothing that I could do. You cannot just wash them and have them be perfect again. I had to throw them away. They are pictures that I can never get back and can never replace. I was so angry about it. I have had to accept the fact that the pictures are gone though and just move on with my life.

oh lady! There is no REWIND button in real life incidents. Especially when its the sweetest incident or missing the sweetest person in our life. Both my dad as wel as my guy always tells me to be early to the place that I am supposed to be. But there is always a thrill in leaving late. Coz till now I have not faced any bad delays. Well I am a person who wishes to stay away sometime to get back to normal!

It happened with me recently. We two colleagues went on an official trip. My other colleague had the digital camera with him. We too so many photograph on our trip, whenever we could find time from our official business. As you know that one has the liberty to take as many snaps in a Digital camera, as one likes. When we returned to our homes from the tour, on the second day I was informed by my colleague that he had accidently deleted all the photographs, including the previous ones. He and I were very disappointed. I remember one of my cousins, who is in photography business, I phoned him. He asked me to send the memory card to him (he lives in another city) and he had the software with him. He could retrieve most of the photos. So do not feel bad, try if someone (who is in the photography business and computers) might have some software for retrival of your lost photographs. Best of Luck.

I was quite upset... but there is nothing i can do because it was all my fault...

Hello checapricorn, It happened to me once. I keep all my son's photo when he was just a newborn until now in our desktop computer and I don't know why my husband loves to re-format the computer. One time, he deleted everything and it was lucky that I copied all the photos to a CD. He just said, "Well, there are just photos! You can take as many as you want with him anytime, anywhere!" Oh, well! I didn't talk to him for a day until he finally found the CD!
