I love my pet...how much?

I have two wonderful dogs. They are the lights of my life. Recently my older dog (she is 5 years old) had some medical problems. As any pet owners know...pet medical care is very costly. For these minor medical issues my dog had we of course paid. Afterall, I would never sacrifice my pet's health for $500. However at what point would you stop paying for medical care or would you at all? I have a cousin who had a purebread German Shepherd impale herself on a stick while running in the forest. She survived but it cost them nearly $4,000 in medical bills. It got me thinking...would I or could I pay that amount if my dog got hurt. We have a lot of debt already and that would be a huge additional expense. But I also do not see how I could let my otherwise healthy baby Jack Russel die. I don't know what I would do. How about you?

oh it would be hard especially if you didn't have the money, I always think of what I am putting an animal through as well, as I can't handle pain myself I always tjhink of that aspect of things but I would have to do as much for my pet as I possibly could because they are just like family,.

I agree. It breaks my heart when an animal suffers because they do not know why they are hurting and why you can't make it stop. Oh it is bringing tears to my eyes to think about it.
