When the Dodgers got Joe Torre as their new manager, I placed a friendly wager with my Franklin that the Dodgers would take their division. Of course, he gladly accepted. He spent lots of time during the season delightfully telling me when the Dodgers lost, they were not in first place, yada, yada, yada. It got me so angry that I asked him if he'd like to double our original wager. He laughed and agreed. Then the Dodgers got Manny Ramirez in a trade and things were looking up! The season still has a couple of games to go, but, I won! The Dodgers have clinched the division and Frank must now fork over his forty dollars hee hee hee. Do you ever make friendly bets on sports with your signifigant other? How about co-workers or friends? Do you usually win or lose these bets?

Yes but think of your feet aching trying to wash up in shoes like that, forty dollars worth it not to suffer the pain. LOL. Ellie :D

I'd have been much better off, and forty dollars richer, if the bet had been for doing the dishes

Thanks, I usually go for the money because it is much easier than you do the dishes and well I get to spend it Thanks for the response and hugs back at you.

I have teams i like and wish they would win like the Blue Jays and the Leafs and the Raptors and the Argoes but that is as far as it goes I have hear these bets made by many but few actually pay off The only way to ensure payment is to give the bet money to a person you can trust and is not in the betting I think its Manny Ramirez that gave the Dodgers the nod Torre has and did have with the Yankees some great Hall of Fame players Also the Dodgers were in a weak division and will not win the World Series Bet on that you will be a loser Sorry to bust your balloon

I've never been a betting person at all and have never done so. Not to say it's bad just something I haven't gotten into at all. I would however predict winners with friends and did that my Senior Year in the NFL. I would have the season schedule and look and see who plays who with picks. There were no issues in regards to any flip-flopping on picks. The winner just simply that and nothing else.

Sounds interesting. I know with betting you win some, you lose some. You can never really tell until it finally happens. Even a bet you are so sure of winning can turn around be met with defeat.

That is neat too. I like once in a while to bet silly amounts of money. It is kinda silly sometimes, and sometims well I win too.

Boyfriend and I are both into different sports. He's taken me to see baseball and football games but I just can't seem to get interested. So we don't make friendly bets because we don't follow the same sports, I'm more into volleyball, basketball and tennis. I haven't made friendly bets with co-workers or friends either. Although in high school, my male classmates would rag on me if my team and favorite local basketball player lost but they seem to be quiet if my team won.

It is hard to make bets if you do not follow the same sports. Thanks for the response.
