going "green" is one of the latest cause that is getting a lot of attention for the past couple of years....i wonder how it would last.....hopefully, a long time since this movement is for the place where we all live in....the earth!
in TIME magazine, there is an article that caught my eye with regard to going "green". It stated the six sins, saying that there are some, who are saying that they are going green but they really aren't....and they had listed ways on how some people "greenwash" us....meaning, brainwashed us into believing that they are going green but they really aren't....so here goes....
HIDDEN TRADE OFF
Promotion of ONE aspect of a product as environmentally friendly while its negative impact is obscured.
NO PROOF
Environmental claim that can't be easily verified.
VAGUENESS
Assestion so amorphous that it's meaningless- like a "non-toxic" claim when anything could be toxic if misused.
IRRELEVANCE
Claim that's technically true but unimportant for the planet.
LESSER OF TWO EVILS
Claim that is narrowly true but ignores larger environmental problems- like green "SUVs".
FIBBING
Claim that is demonstrably untrue.
