Which is better internet explorer or firefox?

Some say firefox is faster than internet explorer and it has its own download manager. What can you say about this? Is firefox really faster than internet explorer?

I don't which is faster as I'm sold of Firefox and would never ever use explorer. I like the fact that I get no popups.
