Working In A Call Center

I've been working at my current job for almost a year now. Surprisingly I have yet to quit or allow myself to be walked out the door. It is the most exhausting, annoying and discouraging job I believe I've ever had. For me, I start my day bright and early at 8:30 in the morning where I tote my tush through the door and into my cubicle. I then become attached to the wall by a phone cord and glued to my seat being bombarded with BS calls the minute I clock in on the timecard. I mean, the people that call literally sit there and wait on the phone until we open. They don't care if you're still swallowing your breakfast. So I sit there, hour after hour, beep after beep and answer these incompetant and annoying peoples questions. My favorite piece of assistance that I completely despise is when they want to have their account PW reset. I just don't understand how people can be so irresponsible and forgetful of their personal information. Then, after feeling raped and abused by the aggrivation and verbal violence echoing through my ears all day, I stand up and wait for the a-hole of the day to call me 1 second before I'm allowed to clock out and re-gain my freedom. See some call centers, employees change shifts with eachother. The one I work in, everyone is there at the same time and everyone leaves at the same time. The timeframe and hours of operation is KNOWN to these callers but just to be spiteful and rude, they go out of their way to ruin someones day and they call at the last minute asking every dumb question in the book. Then at the end of the annoying, "i'm forcing you to work overtime" conversation, they hang up on you. I just really hate my job. Some tell me to suck it up and not take it personal but please. If anyone out there can relate and vent with me, please do so. I'd sure love to read it.
