I have been driving for 6 years now and in those 6 years I only met 3 car accidents in my life which is not fatal and mostly just collisions that is never my fault. Yesterday was the third, and since I don't know how to handle it well, I just stood in front of my now dented car and wait for the driver to step out his car. The driver of the other vehicle is unaware of the collision. Stupid isn't it? Anyway, he won't admit that it was his fault so naturally I would get angry. And I did but I still remained my composure. Well, we both ended up in a police station stating our side of the story. I'm just curious how to handle car accidents well. I need some advice on this.

It is a piculiar situation that you meet with an accident, suffer some injuries some times and still the other driver tries to prove that you had done wrong to cause the accident. It is really more emberacing especially when you are injured more and feeling pain. However, in this situation, if the other driver is not agreeing with you then the best way is to try and keep silent and wait for the police to come. Make your statement in the police station and leave rest of the things to the legal procedures. However, if you are at fault then it is advisable to make a compromise on the spot about what type of compensation you will have to the other person. Here also it is necessary to keep your cool so that you do not enter into unnecessary expanses by commiting a bigger amount.
