Did you ever think why Mahatma Gandhi didn't get a Nobel Prize for Peace.

He's known as the father of nation in India, he's the most notable person that India had ever produce, as egalitarian, philanthropist, great social reformer who promotes peace and non-violence & condemns racism during his era. Is there any reason behind it "Why ?? " even though this Nobel prize committee (of Sweden)may be an autonomous body. They can still give it as an posthumous Nobel prize for peace. Comment plis.

there are many issues, but the main why people are angry in punjab is that he didnt save bhagat singh just for his stupid principles.lol you know there is a statue of gandhi in PATIALA(a city,u must be knowing),and someone applied Honey on the head of statue,,and the next day,the head was all covered with crows, hahha it came in newspaper next day. sorry if you like him,but i feel he was much fake, and dont deserve any nobel prize, thanks hahah,by the way what about giving nobel prize to mahatma nathu ram,lol

Thanks for the info Ramagill....i'm not a hardcore protagonist of Gandhi but i like some of his principles only...i was raising this question as his works & principles are highly eulogized by many critics. There must be surely resentment among his followers indeed as you know being a leader in India is such a difficult task to perform for any leader so there is a trade-offs of policies as there is never a right solution.

i think its terrible that some people never get the respect and admiration they deserve. the man was a saint and should have been noted worldwide as such.
