and watching Mama mia. I refused to go the first time but now it is in the dollar movie where I live.
I wonder what is it that you have done to make someone else happy even if you did not enjoy it that much lately?
(off to the movies now)

Hi Shelly, I will wait to see his once on DVD as the movies too expensive here in the UK. The last thing I done to make someone really happy was go into work on Friday on my day off as they were very short staffed even though I could have done a lot of other things and gone for my usual swim too. I hope you enjoy the film as much as your daughter will. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi shelly, hope you enjoyed. Tcket prices range from £4 ($8) to £7 most days per person with the cheapest matinee midweek at £3.68 per person. Then you have the cst to get there, the popcorn, drink etc so it is a very expensive trip out even for just one person. Ellie :D

I think it is more or less about the same cost, in here when we went to the movies, the movies were ok, the snacks not so much.
(and I found out we did pay 1.75 per person, there is a 1.25 on tuesdays)
drinks can be more 3 dollars, popcorn more or less the same)
I think like you, the regular movie and snacks and getting there (bus or car) can make it a expensive trip, better enjoy the movie

I feel your pain as far as the prices of movies.
In my town there is a dollar movie special, where the movies are 1.25 before the evening and then they are 1.75
You could say they are semi new.
The new ones are 6.25 before evening and 8.25 in the evening.
2 or 3 people is really a lot.
I am wondering how much is it to watch a movie in the UK?

That's a tough call I think every parent faces one time or another.
If I said "yes" to everything my kids wanted, they would become spoiled brats. But on the other hand, the occasional treat, movie or special event can be a positive thing. After all, life would be awfully dull without those little indulgences.
With my own children I have sat through countless children's TV shows and music concerts that bored me to tears...but it was still worth it when I saw how excited my kids were. This was especially true when they were younger and unable to comprehend that Sesame Street or The Wiggles weren't as much fun for me as for them.
Of course if money is a factor, that's something else to consider. I have had to say "no" many times to special events because we simply couldn't afford it. These are tough but important lessons that you can't always get what you want. In your case, however, spending a few dollars at the cheapie movie theater doesn't sound like it will break the bank.
Just curious...how old is your daughter? What is it about Mamma Mia! that she wants to see? The music? The dancing?
This could be a excellent opportunity to bond with your daughter. And who knows? You may even end up enjoying it yourself. I saw it in the theatre a couple of months ago and loved it! Having this experience in common could give you the chance to discuss what you liked or didn't like about the movie.

She is 17. she just wants to see the dancing and well the singing helps a lot you.
Tho I know what you. one can't get what one wants all the time.
I hope that you enjoy your kids while they are little.
In here to see a movie before 6.00 p.m is 1.75 it can be cheaper on wednesday 1.25 but then we can not make it because then it is school day.
Thanks for the response.

The only part of the movie she wants to see is Pierce Brosnan, so that she can swoon and drool and do whatever it is teenage girls do when confronted by a face they think is the most handsome face in the world
The funny part of the day is that they didn't even see Mama Mia! They saw some other movie. It truly is a females prerogative to change her mind

Hello there my friend! I hope you and your daughter have a fun time going to the movies, as for me my kids just like toys and toys and toys, give them toys and it would make them really happy and for my hubby a nice meal will give a lot of joy to him and for my youngest, oh well some tickles on his neck would bring out squeals and laughter.
