Another fan here. It's such a strange mix of fantasy and harsh reality. It could have gone completely wrong with any other director. I saw it first in the theater, which is unusual for me, and so glad I did. And I have the DVD of course.

I do agree with you, Galena. I have this on DVD. Even though it's a bit scary, both fantasy-wise and reality-wise. Del Toro really did a good job on this one!
