Would cockroaches still follow us onto another planet even if we were careful?

Let's say we colonized another planet in the future... Mars for instance.
We decide to move people there group by group, thorougly examining everyone and their belongings to rid of roaches and their eggs. Would it be possible for us to have a new planet without them?
