I have learned from showbiz news that Joyce Jimenez and her group met an accident. The group came from a taping somewhere north. Joyce Jimenez, a popular actress here, is somehow saved from the accident. They said that the vehicle turned a couple of times. Joyce, asleep, was sitting infront was saved by the seat belt and airbag. That scares me when riding a car or any vehicle and being seated infront because I would always imagine that I would be the first to be exposed to some physical objects when an accident would happen, thus, I see to it that I have my seatbelt. Though, it is illegal not to wear seatbelts, there are a number of friends (and drivers) who still do not want to wear seatbelts, and somehow it scares me. Do you see to it that your seatbelt is placed where it should be when driving or riding?

hello my friend, I do wear seat belts when I seat in front of the car. My husband who drives also wear one, it is just an ordinary thing for us. But now I rarely seat on the front now but when we are on the back we don't use seat belts. Is it wrong?

Oh i'm sorry for your loss :( Anyways I don't feel right if I don't wear my seatbelt. As soon as I sit down it's a natural thing I do It's like when you get up in the morning and forget to brush your teeth;until you do it you just doesn't feel right...Same with taking a bath :)

Yes it is just as important to wear seatbelts in the back because if you rear-end somebody the people in the back will lean foreward but if their smacks into the front seat it will be bent back. Think of the angle of your body leaning foreward and the angle of your head leaning back, now think of that with your body moving at the speed of the car was before you crash.

Yes it is just as important for people in the back seat to wear seatbelts. Think about this: if you were to rear-end somebody, the person in the back will lean foreward but if their head hits the front seat there head will lean back.So think about the angle of your body leaning foreward and the angle of your head leaning back while your are moving at the speed of the car. Not only will it hurt your neck but it can olso hurt your back.

I do believe that seat belts can save a human life. I wear them not because of the fines but I have read about a lot of people losing their life when it could have been saved if they had fastened their seat belt.

This is so true, for cautionary purposes, it is indeed safe to just basically fasten ones seatbelt while in the vehicle.

I haven't heard about that accident yet, but good to know that she's safe. my boyfriend always get mad at me whenever I am not wearing a seat belt. he always reminds me that even though he isn't driving that fast, we can never tell on when the accident will happen. the reason why I don't want to use the seat belt is that, I just can't breath., and my movements are limited. I can hug him, I can put my legs on top of my seat.. something like that.. but I've learned now how important it was, that is why I am always using seat belt whenever I am riding his car.

Haha! Maybe he just wants to make sure that you can hug him forever. I think he just want to keep you safe.

Hello tyxiness, I do wear seatbelt all the time when I am driving. I got used to it already that it's like a habit when I am on the driver or passenger seat. Our public utility jeepney's don't have or not working seatbelt in front and so I avoid sitting in front. There are cases that policemen gives ticket to those not wearing seatbelts and it's not very good to get one. It has already proven by several crash tests that seatbelts saves lives. With or without law we should always wear it. Accident do happens. Regards.

It's nice to know that you are making it a habit to wear seatbelts. We all have to be precautious about accidents.

I generally wear seatbelt when i am sitting next to driver seat. If i am travelling as a pillion rider , i mean if i am sitting at the back of the car then i avoid wearing. However i think everybody must realise and accept that wearing seatbelt while driving is for our own safety, and we must follow the driving rules for our and others safety... happy myLotting!!!!

Thanks for replying. I guess, when riding a car or vehicle safety usually is synonymous with putting the seat belt.

Actually when I drive the car I make sure that I wear the seat belt and drive as it is really safety for us.My husband also does it at the same time when he is also driving. To be very frank in abroad wearing seat belt is complusary but out here in India it is not.But the rules out here has come out that we have to wear seat belt but I dont think no one is really implementing it. Regards

I guess, we have the same case as here in the Philippines. Most of the drivers know that it is illegal not to wear seatbelts but people would still not wear it even if the policemen saw them (often they would look for alibis).

When I ride taxi going home and the traffic is really light I usually wear it since there is a tendency for taxi drivers to drive fast. But when I see there is heavy traffic I feel lazy to wear seatbelt since the movement of traffic is slow and if ever an accident could occur it is unlikely that it will be major accidents like that to happen. But I strongly believe that you need to wear seat belt everytime you ride as a precautionary measure.

Wearing a seatbelt can be a life saving act... that is why even if i ride a the back of a car... i still wear it... and i always make it a point to remind the other passengers and the driver to wear his/her seatbelt... my daughter is already used to wearing this that she would always look for one when inside a car... I really hate it when other people tend to be stubborn and make excuses just so they will not wear a seatbelt...

I have to agree with you. I just hate it when people are just stubborn to just pull that belt and put it on.

yes i always wear seatbelts. most people ignore this but wearing seatbelts is a precaution in case you're involved in an accident. studies have shown that seatbelts have decresead the number of fatalities in vehicular accidents. even when i seat at the back , i always remind friends and family members to wear theri seatbelts. it's always better to be safe than sorry.

I wear seatbelts because I love my life I still have two kids to raise LOL!!! I've seen several accidents that went wrong or worst just because their not wearing their seatbelts and I have no intention of following their steps. Thanks for the information I am a fan of joyce I like her beauty a lot.

Loving ones life should be always the very reason why one has to put on precautionary measures. I am also a fun of Joyce (but not on a "male"-ish level). I just find her witty and pretty.

I do always wear a seat belt because here in Kuwait we have to wear it for we will be having a charge if the police will caught you doing such violation and I do agree also that it is one part of a safer drive....

I always use the seatbelt. It is illegal here in the US not to use a seatbelt and at the same time i feel safe when im using. Everytime we go to the mall or just a short distance trip i still use my seatbelt. Not to mention that our car has an automatic warning that is very annoying to hear everytime i didnt use the seatbelt lol. Anyways in the phils it is a common practice already that people dont use seatbelt. Only few follows rules without realizing the importance of seatbelt everytime they travel.

I definitely wear my seatbelt everytime I ride the car. My husband and I have been in a light collision before and had it not been for the seatbelt, we might have been hurt. I also make sure that my 10-month old daughter wears seatbelt through the baby car seat. Safety should always be first.

well i always do wear seat belts. when they are provided with the car then why not wear them and they look cute and safety is a more important issue here. God forbid if an accident occurs then you will have to face the consequences. so, why not follow the old saying "prevention is better then cure".

I have to agree with you. There was a time when I would tell cab drivers to put on their belts since they might be fined, but the stubborness of these drivers somehow kill my patience.

I always wear my seat belt. It is illegal in Canada not to wear your seat belt when you are in the front seat. In the back, it really does not matter because often the seat belts are too small, and do not reach all the way. But in the front, the seat belts are usually long enough and if I have difficulty as each car is different, I can still take it out part the way. The fine is quite large though.

I actually have always worn a seat belt. Unless I'm at the back I make sure to buckle up. I learned this habit when I was in a car accident a few years ago. I was the passenger and if not for the seat belt I would have had serious injuries. Since then, I make sure to buckle up even when I'm riding with a very safe driver. I think the seat belt law should be enforced more here in our country though because a lot of people still forego it. Sure it's uncomfortable especially for kids and those who are a bit big, but at least you're always safe.

I have to agree with you, it won't hurt a bit wearing the belt just to be safe. It's nice to know you're safe (re: car accident experience) and still keeping safe.

Back in driving school, checking and wearing your seatbelts are the thing you need to check first upon getting in the car. It kind of suffocates me sometimes but yeah, better safe than sorry. I don't have a car though lol!

Safety is paramount when it comes to being in control of a vehicle that weighs in excess of a tonne and capable of great speed. It has always been second nature for me to belt up when in any vehicle and i always insist that all of my passengers do the same. As a child i hated wearing seat belts because of their bodily restrictions, so one time my father had reached the end of his tether and while driving at around 20- 25 mph slammed on his brakes which made me go flying forward just enough to always remember to belt up! If i ever have the same troubles with my children i wont hesitate to use my dads actions! we still joke about it occassionally

I guess (though I feel that it was such a traumatic experience), experience is still the best teacher.
