I listened to this song every day from the day I found out I was carrying a boy until my son was born. Then my husband played it for us on the drive home from the hospital as I sat in the backseat with my new little guy. This is a special song to us all..... it mellows my son out when he hears it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqNBhRiLetg&feature=related Mama told me when I was young Come sit beside me, my only son And listen closely to what I say. And if you do this It will help you some sunny day. Take your time... Don't live too fast, Troubles will come and they will pass. Go find a woman and you'll find love, And don't forget son, There is someone up above. (Chorus) And be a simple kind of man. Be something you love and understand. Be a simple kind of man. Won't you do this for me son, If you can? Forget your lust for the rich man's gold All that you need is in your soul, And you can do this if you try. All that I want for you my son, Is to be satisfied. (Chorus) Boy, don't you worry... you'll find yourself. Follow you heart and nothing else. And you can do this if you try. All I want for you my son, Is to be satisfied. (Chorus) Tell us about a song that is special to you. Find it on Youtube.com and let us listen to it while we read your response.

here you go.....this is off the live DVD, it's dedicated to Dimebag Darrel, guitarist for Pantera/Damage Plan who was gunned down on stage by a deranged "so called" fan. very moving version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2l8O1JUrRo&feature=related

Yeah Freebird is one of my favorites as well as Sweet Home Alabama. They are actully from Florida. Why they sang a song about Alabama I am not sure but it has a great beat to it and good lyrics

Haha. Sweet Home Alabama is just more lyrical.

This has always been one of my most favorite songs and so easy to understand and such an easy guide for life. I have often wondered if everyone who heard this , really took it to heart what a wonderful world it would be.
