I notice that sinigang and adobo dishes are really a popular Filipino dishes according to those discussons about sinigang and adobo, they both received good numbers of responses. I was just wondering which of the two is the most well-loved Filipino dish. For me I like them both but if I would ask which between them would be my most favorite, without any hesitations I can definitely say that "Sinigang" is my favorite. I"m more on a soup base food lover. I like my foods always with something that I can sip like soup. And I also like to eat dishes which comes with a variety of vegetables like sinigang, there are almost three or more kinds of vegetables in it.. Which is your favorite among the two? Can you share your pick?

Pwede both? I really love both but when I'm faced with a choice between adobong baby and sinigang na hipon, I'll definitely go with the sinigang na hipon because I love prawns. But if you ask me which one I like to cook, I like adobo coz it's so much easier to prepare.

I know what you mean, it's adobong baboy (pork) right?..just have some error there. Prawn sinigang is also one of my favorite sinigang the other is beef sinigang. Yes adobo is much easier to prepare than sinigang because the meat is only what you need to make adobo, unlike sinigang you need meat or fish or prawn with vegetables to make sinigang.. Hava a nice day..

I want sinigang during a rainy and cold evening. It really fills me up when eating sinigang. I eat a lot of rice with it. Adobo on the other hand is one of the many temptations I can't resist. It's best during picnics I guess.

Sinigang is best eaten during cold and rainy seasons. I like it's hot and sour soup during rainy days. Actually I still like it even on summer days. Adobo is always being packed for picnics because it is dry, no soup to spill and can also combine to other different foods.

I love sinigang and adobo. I can't choose what I like the most because I love both of them. I like adobo because it is very easy to prepare. What I like about sinigang is the sour soup of it. It is good when you have cough and cold because the sour soup can relieve and make you feel better.

Wahaha!!! Now it comes down to comparison eh? I'm getting inspired once again to create a discussion about food in the philippine topic. It's a pity that only a few myLot members really respond to the food topic in general, but when you post something in the Philippine topic filipino members do respond, be it political, societal, or about simple things like food, places to go and stuff. Now, back to the discussion... I LOVE SINIGANG!!! I may have created that discussion about adobo, but it is based on the fact that Filipinos love adobo. Heehee. I myself prefer sinigang, and what I really love is beef sinigang. Nothing can beat that "maasim na bulalo" feeling. Heehee. And then I also like pork sinigang and shrimp sinigang, any sinigang in tamarind I think(except bangus, I hate that fish, "masyado matinik"). I love soup-based dishes, as you can sip in after eating it with rice, and I like sinigang the best. I love adobo, but I've yet to taste that almost perfect adobo blend...as for sinigang, almost everyone I know that cooks it do it just fine, "mas maasim mas OK!". My girlfriend cooks the best sinigang!(Well, obviously biased information here...hehe). Have a nice day pinoy myLot-ers!!!

Here you are inspired once again he he.. I just want to know which of these Filipino dishes is well-loved by Filipinos. That is one good thing about us Filipinos we are always willing to help with our countrymen . Even to the discussions here in mylot, we are very supportive enough to response most of discussions posted here in the Philippines because we know that it's our fellow Filipino who posted that discussions. And that is our simple way to help him/her.. Am I right? Well it's good to know that you love sinigang more than adobo he he.. Hava a nice day pinoy myLoters!! Mabuhay!!

wow i love this discussion, it's making me really hungry. I do eat both this dishes and i love them both, that's why it's really difficult to choose, but easier to eat hehe, let's have a taste test! YUMMY! Sinigang is llke a full meal because, you have the soup, the veggies and the seafood or the meat. BUt the adobo is way more popular with foreigners and the Philippines is much more identified with the adobo... like the adobong balut is a delicacy in itself. Adobong BAboy is still tastier and yummier for me coz it is my favorite especially with egg.

I love both sinigang and adobo. They are my two favorites viand and it is very hard to choose which one is my super favorite. I love my sinigang to be just a mild sour and I love when there is a kangkong in it. while I love adobo with orange or pineapple juice in it with taragon and laurel tree.

As for me, I prefer Adobo whether it is pork or chicken as long as it has hard boiled egg. I can eat it for days. My kids, on the other hand, definitely loves sinigang. They can eat a lot without getting fat because it is sour and helps dissolve fat inside the body. Healthier too because of the variety of veggies you can add to this variand.

Sinigang and Adobo? Err, can I say both? It's such a tough choice for me. I have always liked Pork Sinigang, Beef or Shrimp with the radish. My favorite vegetable in sinigang is the Radish. As for the Chicken and Pork Adobo, I like it a little sweet (not too much though) or salty depending upon the soy sauce used.

I want sinigang than adobo. Adobo is very oily and eating with oily food is bad for my health. But sinigang sa simpalokan is more my favorite!!

hmmm...sinigang, definitely! but i love adobo, too. =) i like adobo when it's dry. it's even best when it's left for several days where the meat would absorb the flavors of the soy sauce, pepper and the chili. hmmm....i'll change my answer...sinigang (while it's pot hot) AND adobo with a very yummy newly cooked rice. then throw in a glass of coca cola with ice. (burppp! hehehe) i noticed though that during fiestas or big gatherings, they don't really serve these two. do they?

I pick adobo. Any where in the world, whenever there's a Filipino, ask them what food do they miss when they were still here in the Philippines and no doubt number 1 is Adobo., Happy posting!!

This is a really tough choice... I love both so very much! Ever since I was a kid, I have been eating both Sinigang and Adobo. I'd have to say that I like sinigang better though. I love super sour and spicy sinigang!

I prefer sinigang than adobo because I love to eat those veggies in the sinigang soup. Like you, I like something sour too..but I do not have a pick of sinigang because we do not cook it often in the house. our family's favorite dish is pochero, and my grandma and lola can cook it..and its very delicious..i dont have some pics too because i dont have a celphone with camera or even digicam..
