This can be very dangerous and never have I tried this. My friend experienced this recently though, he was on his way home after a nocturnal shift in the emergency room. He suddenly closed his eyes and napped while he is still in front of the wheel. The good thing is that he was just still in the middle of the traffic when this happened..^^ How about you? Have you ever experienced this?

I hate to admit it but yes only for a few seconds but when the wheel jerked I was awake. I have heard many accidents that have killed because of people who are to tired falling asleep behind the wheel it is best to pull over take a 30 minute cat nap or maybe a hour. My mom and dad has also feel asleep behind the wheel because of driving from New Mexico to Kentucky driving 16-20 hours a day for 3 days straight. I am glad your friend was stopped when it happened I would have hated to hear he paid for that mistake with his life.

This probably won't happen on me because I always feel very nervous if I am driving. During the drive, I am very carefully looking front just afraid to bump into other cars or people. After I drive, I always feel very tired for being too intense in myself. And I can't help it.

I can see why it happens though....I have never actually dozed off. But I have been to the point where I am so tired and groggy that I have had to pull over! If I am tired I try to make sure I keep a window open and coffee or other caffiene drink available.

I started driving when I was 13 years old, that was 14 years back. I never had an experience like that nor any type of accident 'til now. Maybe I am just too careful because I'm afraid of accidents. I always see to it that I am in good condition before driving. Or if times I need to drive even I feel sleepy or I am lack of sleep, I'll just concentrate my mind looking on the road or listen to hard music that will not keep me sleep or nap.

i never let myself doze off while driving as this is really dangerous on the road. the loud music in the car always keep me awake. whenever i feel tired, i will definitely put on my favorite music and this makes me more energetic while driving.
