I have my own house but I rarelly stay there. My mom and my oldest sister live there. In five years I owned the house, maybe 1 month is the longest that I stayed there. Since that it is five years old now, it started to have some repairs, especially at the plumbing and the roof. I got a call this week from my oldest sister that a part of the house, its starting to drip when its raining. I think last year she told me that the front door is starting to rust. I was expecting that those problem should be solved by my sister not me since shes the one who is leaving there, for free. Should that be my obligation since I'm the owner of the house? NEED YOUR OPINION GUYS......

Hi koikoikeiji, IN my opinion, they are very lucky to stay there for free and they have to take care of it and be responsible if ever there are things that need to be fix and if ever she needs your assistance, she will not tell you to just fix it and handle all the expenses! Anyway, maybe you need to talk about it and if she has a work and nice salary for sure she will understand since you have your own family now!

yes that is what i am expecting... they have to take care of it for they are the ones who are living and staying there. that is the not so good part here... the understanding part. she is not that good on understanding. not that she is a stupid person but she always expect that because i live abroad i have more income than she has. oh well i just hope this would turn out well

NO DEAL!!! i wish she just do what needs to be done. i have a lot on my mind already and i dont want to think things like that. i am a new mom and i need to be happy for myself and for my son as well. i dont know what will happen with the house, but for now all i want to think about is the future of my son.

Hi there, I think its okay for you to expect her to fix the things in your house, because she is the one who stayed in your house and doesnt have to pay rent. But maybe she doesn't have the money to fix it. I dont think that its your obligation as owner of the house. I just give my opinion but this is still your decision.

she works so there is no reason for her to tell me that she has no momey to fix it. she likes telling me what is the problem at the house and expect me to do something anout it. plain simple light bulbs she expect me to buy to change it. i sont know for other people but i think that it is her obligation to watch over the house for she is the one who is living there
