As for me,I need to admit,as I am when it comes to shopping.Unless I put my money in some bank deposit.I cannot just stand cash in my hand, the next moment I will be in a shop looking for or buying stuff. It is not that I buy stuff for myself but I have this habit of getting stuff for other family members and I end up spending more than I should.I save money but when I buy things,I just cannot afford to stick to my budget. What about you?

I wouldn't say I am a spendthrift. However, I am a practical shopper. I don't buy things that I don't need. Also, I have a stong sense of self control when it comes to shopping. I could tell myself that not to buy something at that time because of this or that.

Good to hear that my friend,it is not like I buy unnecessary items but I end up also buying things that can wait and bought later.I try hard to get rid of this habit but it is difficult. The moment I have cash in hand and see some good stuff,I cannot resist and I end up buying them. This is also one of the reason why I prefer to keep less cash with me and no card please.Happy myLotting!

No, I'm definitely not a spendthrift. My dad was quite a cheapskate, although he would have said thrifty, I think. I learned to be frugal from him and from my mother, and thank goodness I did. When I was a single mom, I was able to support my son with only about $800 a month coming in (1997-2003). Our rent and utilities were $500 of that. And yet my son never knew we were poor. He very rarely was denied what he wanted for birthdays or Christmas, we ate out, and had a good computer and internet access, and a car that got us where we wanted to go. He had no idea how little we had comming in every month...not untill he reached adulthood, then he marveled at what we had with so little cash available.

Wow,you sure know how to handle budget!I must say, you are not only responsible person but good in handling your daily budget.Because unless,a person knows how to save money and plan his/her budget and expenses, this things cannot be afforded.Your son would have had miss out all the facilities and comforts if not for you.Thank you for sharing.

It happens with many of us.When we see something,we wanted to buy it so much and we will surely buy it and then we realized we shouldn't have bought it in the first place.Well,I guess,we should always make a list when we are out on our "shopping mission"..plan our budget, take only minimum required cash and shop.
