My son is in 3rd grade and for his school work he has a reading goal he is supposed to try for. He has to chose different books to read and then take a short 5 - 10 question test on it. He has really gotten into reading the Black Lagoon series of books which are right at or slightly above his goal reading level. What are your kids into right now? How old are they?

My daughter is in kindergarten. She loves books. And is really starting to get into reading. Her favorites right now are the Clifford series, and Winnie the Pooh. Must be the age.

My son is still 5 years old and is in Nursery One. He is beginning to read fluently already simple words as well as numbers. I bought him some childrens encyclopedia for fun and learning. He likes to read the look at the pictures. It is really wonderful when we see our childs development. We really feel proud. Best to you and your family!

My kids have to take these acelerated reading tests as well. My oldest no longer has to do it now that she is in high school. Our second daughter is right at her reading level and she finally gets to pick the books that she wants to read. Our third daughter reads what the teacher picks for her and well she already has made 100% of her goal for the first 9 weeks in 3 weeks. She is in 2nd grade and she has a reading level of a 5th grade level. She loves to read and does read often. Our youngest did just start school this year and well she has not made it to reading yet, she is still learning all the basics.

My daughter is almost 14 years old and enjoys books from the "Twilight" series. They are written by Stephanie Meyers. She is totally addicted to this writer and thinks her books are the greatest thing since sliced bread. She reads about her and the books on the internet as well. A true sign of an addiction!!!!...lol
