Wanna join my band?

I am very good at air violin. What about you? Are you more into air guitar or air drums? Or any other instrument?
This disclosure may reveal my crazy side. I have this tendency to mime playing a violin while listening to certain music. I was just listening to Coldplay's Viva La Vida and the violinist in me came out. You should see how I move my right arm...
So want to be in my air band? We could even try for an orchestra.

When I was a teenager my sister and I got all decked out and climbed up on our makeshift stage with our air microphones and lip-synced a few songs. Somebody took photos. My mother still has those photos and will not let me destroy them. One thing for sure though, it put me off air anything. Although, when I listen to classical music I cannot keep my hand from wielding an air baton (whatever those little sticks conductors hold in their hands are called) and conducting... the urge is so irrepressible that even if you tied my arms beside my body I would conduct with my nose!
I can't figure out why you're calling yourselves the Airholes instead of the Airheads though!

You think 'airholes' doesn't carry much negative connotation?!? What do you think of when you see the word? I think 'a$$holes'! Am I all alone there??

Ahaha, now we have a conductor! Conducting with your nose... are you Jeannie?
I've thought about Airheads but it reminds me of this Adam Sandler movie I've never watched with the same name, Plus, "airheads" carries a certain negative connotation. Airholes, not so much. Heheh.

For some reason, airholes is top of that list of our potential band name. It's actually the only one on the list. Can you think of something else?

You're a mands of all trades then huh? Well, we still don't have a singer so you can do that. We can both be the dancers as well. I will dance while I play my violin. Hand, arm, hip, body, foot coordination!

That's so good to hear, Sisi. I am an ardent music lover but cannot play myself. I think I am very good in giving moral support. Would love to hear you play dahling.
Cold you upload it somewhere? May be in youtube.
Thanks.

Sorry to have not read it verbatim. Silly me!
You were talking about air violin, is it? See how dumb I get sometimes!
But dear the moral support thing still remains.
at myself!

So you'll be giving us air moral support, mimpi? Kewl. We now have our first official groupie!
You're not going to hear any music coming from my imaginary violin, mimpi, unless I really have some background music. It's like the violin version of lip synching.
You make me smile!

Sad I don't know any air instrument! I would love to join your band. I used to belong to a band before I left my hometown. I miss them.. sigh.
Well, when I was still young, I got so mesmerized with a piano and was actually trying to learn by myself. But then circumstances have changed and Mama have to sell the piano. So I kinda stopped the learning process. But well, I started singing at the age of 5 so I diverted my attention to singing.
I sang in hotels and restaurant when I was in Cebu, and I joined a band when I went home to Davao. I was the vocalist. I guess I'm not the orchestra type.

Wow! A full acceptance! Hehehe! I sure wanna pretend I know any instrument so I'm accepting the offer
Oh well, I can do the lip synch too if it's really needed, hehehe! I don't really have a good voice, I just know how to entertain the audience, hahaha!

It's okay, maple_kisses. You can still join our band, after all, it's all pretend. I don't know how to play the violin at all! Maybe you want to do the air piano since drannhh will be doing the keyboards. Or you can also be one of our pretend singers but since you said you used to front a real band, I don't think you'd enjoy being a lipsyncher... I don't think it'll be fair to you if you have a good voice!

Well, sure, as that is bound to be as close as I would ever get to one, being incredibly unmusical. People always tell me I have pianist hands, but I don't play much, just rank beginner stuff on an electronic keyboard. It is enjoyable though, sort of relaxing. When I don't think about it very much, sometimes the notes start sounding almost right. My favorite time to practice is when hubby is in the shower.

No pedals for you then. So we now have a pianist/keyboardist!

Yeay! drannhh's on board... but you have to decide whether you want to stick with electronic keyboard or the piano.
I had to read your last sentence several times. Ehem. My mind was in the gutter the first time I read it.
And then I got it!
And then I got it!1 person likes this

OMG! You've caught me! I'm really good at air guitar and air drums, and even an occasional air piano. I can't play the real things at all, but when I'm alone...

Ahaha... cobrateacher... it sounds like you can make your own band there. I've never been even near a violin. But I'm glad to know there are more air musicians here.

At red lights, the steering wheel becomes the best percussion instrument ever! I even play the push-bar of a grocery cart those few times the music in the store catches my ear! How could anyone ever live without music? How can some people resist being part of the band?

Lol. Yup, the steering wheel does become my bongo once in a while. I've forgotten about that. But the grocery cart? Not so much!
Yes, Mr. Officer, that cobrateacher does not use the 10 and 2 position when driving
all the time.

I play a pretty mean air guitar. I have never tried an air violin, SaintAnne. That sounds quite fun. I think I would like your crazy side.

Would I be seeing you in the air guitar finals, makingpots? I've tried to play air guitar but just can't get it down. My right hand looks like it's using a screwdriver. Crazy is as crazy does.

Sounds marvellous ! But, I am not good at playing any musical instrument at all, though I really like listening classical music, Mozart , Chopin , Johan Strauss , Beethoven , and more.
Wish you all the best to organize your own orchestra !

Hello greenline. You don't need to be good at playing any actual musical instrument. It's more pretend-play violin. So what do you thin? Which instrument will you be playing?

Hey anne, I would love to be in your band. I can play
the drums! I am a very good air drummer so that's my
instrument of choice. I always have wanted to play
drums so now's my chance to become part of a famous
air band! So just let me know where and when the
rehersals are and I will be there with my air drums!

Ahaha. We have to come up with a band name then, Opal. I'm glad to know that we have a drummer in the house! For now, let's just rehearse in our own rooms and then we meet up at Madison Square Garden.

You don't have to ask, CJay! We welcome you with open arms... at least with the arms we're not using while playing our instruments. The more air drummers the better! I think. My cousin once went on a headbanging spree and got a very stiff neck the following few days. Don't want that happening to you so just shake your head in moderation, okay?
