Hi! I just saw this interesting discussion about standing against foreign people in your own country, who don't speak the language of that specific country, and who don't seem to care about it..How do you think about those people? Do you help them, or wouldn't you pay any attention to them? When I came for the first time in Hungary it was very difficult for me. I've tried very much to speak the language (in the dorm where I stayed as well), and many people were happy with that! They saw that I was trying it, and they all tried to help me out with whatever they could! So I was able to learn the language pretty quick, what is great ofcourse. Normally the local people in Hungary don't really trust the people from foreing countries, because they think always that they are better..For example; They really dislike the Germans! Just because the Germans always act like; 'Oh, we have money, so bow down for me and work for me, because I'm rich an you not!' Ofcourse, not all the people from Germany are like this, and other people from other countries do this as well, because everything is still cheap here. That's why the Hungarians don't really like people from other countries, because they don't try to fit in..But I did, and after a good year, everybody was friends with me, and everybody liked me very much, just because I've learned the language very well, and now they know I see them as the same people, what ofcourse is a very good thing! So now how do you stand over that kind of people in your own country? different, or the same like me? Share your opinion!

who don't speak the language of that specific country, and who don't seem to care about it. I've heard many ppl make nasty comments about that sort of thing and quite frankly I think they look at it far too one sided....Yes I think that when someone from another country comes to the U.S or Canada they should TRY to learn enough of the english language to get by AND they need to learn our laws and that sort of thing BUT I dont think that completely changing who they are and denying themselves their natural language, culture and ways etc is necessary or right....

Yes I do think you're totally right! that's the situation in Holland right now as well, and it's a big problem! Many foreign people and many cultures live in Holland, and many of the young and old people from Morocco and Turkey (no offensE!!) don't want to learn the language, and don't seem to care about the Dutch people! They act like their in their own country, don't speak the Dutch language, or are even trying to learn it! And then as well they're very agressive, and criminal..Ofcourse not all of them, I'm not stupid..but there has been a investigation about it, and they found out that 80% of these people are showing these problems! Which is ofcourse not normal! That is as well the biggest reason why we went away out of Holland, and moved to Hungary..just because it's not safe anymore..

Personally, I find people of other cultures interesting and would love to learn from them about how they talk and how they live and celebrate holiadys and what cool things they eat..(or not so cool, depending on what it is..) but here in America, many are not so happy with foreigners right now, mostly the Mexicans, for they are just across the border, because the Government is giving foreigners "special" rights that their own citizens don't get..One is if a foreigner starts a business, for so many years this business doesn't get taxed.. Well the foreign people got wise and when the time was up and they would have started paying taxes, they sell, to a relative so that the business has a new owner who is a foreigner and they don't get taxed..I think they should consider how long the buriness has been around and not the owner of the business..And of course there are other things, but this is one that I can remember for now..

There are lots of different foreigners here in my country and the locals always welcome them and treat them nice. Most foreigners I know here try very hard to learn and adapt to the culture of the place. But there are those who seem bossy or high and mighty really who I know mostly are students. The local students would just ignore and stay away until that someone doesn't have anyone to talk to and would be bored and maybe go home LOL.
