Anyone Else Have This Problem With Subscribers? (Kind of a rant-ish thing too)

So at the moment I have a total of 89 subscribers to my YouTube channel. I do vlogs, and the subject I talk most about is stuff relating to Social Anxiety Disorder. However, I seem to have a "problem" when it comes to people watching my videos. The thing is, I have that many subscribers and a lot of the time I will hardly get any views on my videos. Pretty much all the time I will *never* get anywhere even close to the number of subscribers I have in terms of view count. Just like this video I uploaded about a week ago. The last time I checked, *25* views after four days. 89 subscribers...25 views....do you see why that kind of bugs me? And it's not like it's a once in a while thing. This is like every video. Given that some of my subscribers are the stupid "I'll subscribe to everyone I see even though I don't want to watch their videos!" or "Sub to me and I'll sub to you!" people, but still. 89 people and a lot of the views aren't even from them! It's just kind of discouraging when you go through the time to make a video and then your own subscribers won't even watch. It's like everyone else will have dozens, if not hundreds of views, in a given time frame (and not even 'famous' users) and in the same time frame, it's a miracle if I make it to forty views. I don't know why, but I just started feeling a bit peevish about it right now. It'll probably pass in a few minutes, but sometimes it does really annoy me. Am I alone or does anyone else have similar issues with most of your subscribers not watching your videos?

That's pretty common on youtube. I know a couple of the YT partners i communicate with every once in a while have that problem with views. They get a lot more views than you do of course but still they hardly get the amount of views in comparison to the amount of subscribers they have. It drives them a bit crazy too and one of the partners i speak of has "burned out". The thing is to just make videos, first and foremost, for youself on YouTube and if people like them, so be it. Don't wait for or expect their comments. Most people just see the site as an extension of television. Once in a while they'll pay attention to a channel but only for a short while. Realize in a virtual world you're still more or less a (sad but true) character. If you're not a hot blonde, financially funded by someone and/or a comedian then what you've experienced is expected.

You're unfortunately right. A lot of people make joke lists saying things like to get more subscribers (or views), then you must have "large female assets". The lists are jokes, but still sadly ring true. I have a feeling if I was a female, I'd probably get a ton more on there. I need to remember the whole making videos thing is more for me. Sometimes I start thinking things like 'well, maybe my videos suck' then I think about stopping. But even without thousands of views and subscribers (and oddly, I've had a recent surge in people subscribing to me, go figure), I enjoy making them. I guess the whole thing is just kind of my YouTube pet peeve that kicks in every so often heh.
