Is it true that if you always skip your breakfast you will have a great chances of getting fat? If true, why?

I think that eating breakfast is healthier for you and will actually help you if you are trying to loose weight because it starts up your metabolism for the day. I am not sure that if you skip breakfast you will gain weight. That is an interesting theory.

This made no sense to me, but I discovered for myself that it's true. I followed a diet strictly, and that meant getting breafast before going to work each morning. I lost like crazy! I've had a combination of lazy and busy that got me out of the breakfast habit again (just coffee isn't really breakfast) and I gained a lot, in a hurry, even though I still followed the rest of the diet to the letter. Thanks for reminding me that I need to go downstairs and make breakfast!

I am not sure about it making the chances of you getting fat high, but I have heard it is not good for your metabolism if you skip breakfast

Eating breakfast wakes up your system and revs your metabolism so you burn more calories during the day. Try a 15 or 20 minute exercise routine before breakfast and watch how much faster you can loose weight by combining the two strategies. Of course the healthier you eat, the faster you loose too.

Huh? I haven't heard of that. But, I do know that if you always skip breakfast it will have a bad effect to you in the future. Or maybe sooner than expected. You can get ulcer.

I find that eating properly helps, I do not know about not eating makes you fat. Though not eating is not good for the brain and the body as your not feeding the body vital nutrients and protein etc.

I think the only logical reason that I can think of is, if you skip breakfast you tend to eat more during lunch breaks. Well, that's is for me.

I don't know whether it will make you fat or not - I'm sure, depending on what you eat, it could make you fat to eat it! I have heard that it is unhealthy not to eat breakfast.

I'm not too sure about this; but for the past few years I've not taken breakfast on working days - too rushed. I've not been able to put on much weight, though I eat snacks almost every night after dinner.
