A few weeks ago there was a blood donation camp in my college. I decided to give it a try. I really hate sharp objects sticking into me. It gives me the creeps. I had to overcome this fear (and help the needy) It wasn't bad and it dint hurt as much I thought it would. It was a breeze! Have you ever donated blood? Will you even consider it?

I used to donate every couple months, I even donated plasma! I figured that if I didn't really need that little extra that they can take from me someone else could use it. You never know if it's going to go to a family member or a friend. I haven't donated in a couple years because it's all by appointment now and I live too far away to drive there for it, (I'm not good with appointments, I prefer to just walk-in) That's a great thing you did and i hope you overcame your fear enough to be able to do it again!

Thats nice to hear. And I'm glad I did. Hope I saved someone a lot of pain. I'm looking forward to donating again.

I have actually donated blood in the past. I felt really happy to help people who need it. I wish I could donate blood now, but I can't. Since having my daughter, I developed some health problems that don't allow me to, but it's the thought that counts, right?

Hi there! I have always been willing to donate blood. I tried doing that once before. I never had a second chance to do it again because I have been under medication for my allergies and the doctor said that it won't be a good idea for now. I have never been afraid of needles so I really did not have any problem donating blood. I think it is a noble action to donate blood for people who need them most.

As soon as I was old enough, I went to give blood. Unfortunately, there used to be (not sure if there still is) a weight limit, and I didn't make it, and so was turned down. I returned every now and then, and often was able to donate, but it was always difficult - I bleed slowly, and if you take too long, they told me they couldn't use by donation. The last time I donated was a few years back at a mobile unit which came to our place of work. As I was a temp at the time, I asked if I might be allowed to donate, and my manager agreed. I should have been there no longer than half an hour, but they couldn't find a vein, and then I was so slow at bleeding, I was there for over an hour. When I finally finished, I got up and nearly fainted! I had to stay there for a further 10 minutes recuperating - I haven't been back since, which is really naughty. I do carry an organ donor card, and I'm just thinking of going on a bone marrow list, hmm yes, I think I might try that.
