Jack Cafferty was reading letters from viewers of the Situation Room (a Wolf Blitzer show) about what they felt should be done about the 700B and bailout situation and a peice of one letter wrote:
"Just give every citizen 1 million dollars and you will know who the illegal aliens are, they will be the only ones without the Mercedes Benz"
Was this meant to be offensive? I think it was intended to be an innocent joke and Im not sure, it could be by an illegal immigrant but I do not know. I was just suprised they actually read that on tv because even though I found it kind of funny it just seemed like it could be offensive.
I think even the host of the show (in place of Wolf Blitzer for the day) who sat by Cafferty as he read the letter seemed taken a back.

I'm pretty sure that was meant to be offensive, I mean It could have just been read wrong, or something of a mistake, but still, that shouldn't have been read, or, at least censored if they feel it was "good enough" to be read.

Yeah.. I think it sounded offensive. Things like that shouldn't be done on tv. I don't know what his intention. Even if its a joke, i found it rather unsuitable.
