In India,we celebrate the festival of " Navaratri " for nine days with prayer and devotion in the beginning of autumn and spring. " Navaratri " is celebrated as the victory of good over the evil, victory of absolute truth or reality over apparent duality, and the victory of wisdom over ignorance. It is a festival for self-referral and delving deep in to one's own being.Nature gets rejuvenated and transformed by shedding it's old figure and look.Perceiving one divinity or pure being in every form and level of natural entity is the celebration of " Navaratri ". Do you celebrate any festival in the month of October?

yes for us Catholic it is the month of the HOLY ROSARY. we pray the rosary everyday and if you want can offer flowers at the church to Mother Mary the Mother of Jesus. that is what we catholic celebrates every October. Your nine days celebration of Navaratri sounds interesting.... so when will that nine days starts? it is a nine day holiday or not?

Thanks for nicely responding and sharing your thoughts and feelings.I am happy to know that you are piously observing and praying rosary every day in this holy month. I am offering lively flowers from my heart to Mother Mary and praying Her to bless all my Christian brothers and sisters with enlightened, peaceful and blissful life. May Mother Mary bless the mankind to live in a peaceful and prosperous environment! Our Navaratri festival started from 29th of September for nine days.It is a festival to enable us to take the mind back to to its original source. Have nice day!!

Well, aside from the Octobeerfest, we also celebrate october as the month of the holy rosary. In our office, we do a block rosary where we pray the rosary everyday at a certain hour. Filipinos are known to be "religious" people. This is one way of showing our devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

well there's my birthday, and then there's Samhain, which is the end of the year, and a time to reflect back on your ancestors, and be with the family you still have around you, while preparing for the hard times of winter.

Thanks for nicely responding and sharing your thoughts and views. This is an auspicious month that marks the celebration of several pious festivals like Samhain, Navaratri and Eid, binding all the world communities together with a thread of love and festivity. What a beautiful coincidence! It is also a time for us here to remember and offer Sradha to our ancestors with all family members. Have a nice day!!
