Do you know where your money comes from?

All those who have joined (and get paid by) PTC and other sites, have you checked where your money is coming from or, what is more important, where the profit that the site makes goes? There are many sites that are set up to offer payment to people in return for doing things like clicking on ads, reading emails or posting on sites like this. Of course, they can do it by splitting the profit they make with their members. Some of them claim that they are paying their members up to 70% of the revenue; many others don't tell you how much they are keeping for themselves. My point is, really, not where your money comes from but where the rest of it goes. If you were to learn that some of these sites were actually set up to help fund terrorist activity, would that affect whether you join them or not? Would you like to feel that the little money you earn is dirty because it's paid to you by a company that may be supporting Al Quaida (or the Mafia or other such organisations). Bin Laden gets millions of dollars from somewhere. How do you know it's not from a site you support?

Oh dear, this is terrible!! I really hope Mylot profits are not going into terrorism. Usually, we don't check where a sites profits are going, do we? We are more worried about whether we will get paid. And if we get paid, we are happy. I am sure I won't patronize any terrorist organizations that way. The minute I hear the site I am working for is funding terrorism, I am out of there. Cheers and happy mylotting

I think that we are safe on MyLot. I was thinking, though, about many sites where it is very difficult to find out who actually runs them and where they are located. When I join a site, I always look at the contact information (not that that necessarily says anything, really). If they don't display a street address or a registered business number anywhere, it makes me wonder who they are and what they are doing. I'm sure that 99% are just small businesses and perfectly legitimate but it occurred to me that one just doesn't KNOW ... and how many people are there who join up to anything that promises easy money without thinking about the fact that a business is primarily there to make a profit for itself and that Internet businesses can be run from anywhere in the world, really.

Morning owlwings....that would definitely, knowing that information change my mind and I can believe it happens and that the money is going to something of that nature. I don't sign up to shcemes anyway but I really wouldn't now bearing what you have written here in mind.

Owlwings I support your statement. We should not encourage terrorism by any mean. but my question how can we identify such site or how can we avoid those site. we exactly dont know what is happening behind the scene. But to conclude with the RICH GET RICHER AND POOR GET POORER. I hope you can understand.

As this is the only paying site I use I don't worry too much but if the money was supporting any unsavory organizations I would definitely not contribute in any way.

Well,of course ,if I knew the such sites were using the money to do anything harmful to the interest of human being ,I would not support them .However ,the problem is ,how can we know it?In other words ,we have no further information on how they use the rest money. What's more ,our government should monitor whether profit has some harmful use first.I believe if it passes the monitor of our government ,I will ususally believe it safe.
