The Internet Card

I have a USB card with a pigtail on our laptop that connects to the internet. It's a cheaper one, and not one that is bought very much. It is a bit broken, so I have to use the computer in a weird way so that the laptop will continue to have internet connectivity and so that I can mylot and do various other things for preparation of our wedding. The laptop is basically leaning on one leg, slanted, so that pressure is put on the card, so that the green lights will stay on, and thus, internet connectivity. Anyone else had to do something like this? I know I could just as easily go get another card, but I'd rather not. Especially since this works, and until I find a way to rig it, this is a comfortable position to sit in anyway!
